In the summer of 2016, the City of Ames and Iowa State University will host the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals Conference. ISU Dining will provide dining services to the many participants who will be attending this conference. We need your help in providing the high quality of services that Ames and ISU Dining have become known for. We are looking for local, civic, community and school organizations that are interested in earning extra money for their organization.

Dates & Duties

The dates of the conference are Wednesday, May 25 through Saturday, May 28. Expected duties include serving meals, dining room service, dish washing, and light miscellaneous cleaning duties—all which involve standing, lifting and moving about for the entire three-hour work shift. Work will be done in our many dining facilities.

When You Are Needed
We are looking for groups that can work all breakfasts, all lunch shifts or all dinner shifts during the conference dates. Your group may also combine a breakfast with a lunch or a lunch with a dinner, but still need to work all of both meals for the entire conference.

Team Structure & Requirements

Each team will consist of one Team Leader and four members (5 total workers). A Team Leader does need to commit to work every day of the conference, but the team members may vary from day to day as long as four are in attendance for each shift. All Team Leaders and workers must be age 18 or older by May 25, 2016.

Orientation: Each Team Leader must attend a two-hour orientation program prior to May 23, 2016 (actual dates to be determined). The Team Leaders will be responsible for their group members (ability to perform tasks, transportation, training, signed forms for each member, and supervision during the entire shift).

Work Attire: The required uniform is simple and comfortable, consisting of a plain white t-shirt, full length blue jeans, and comfortable shoes such as tennis shoes (no sandals or open-toed allowed).

The expected times for each of these three shifts are:
